Nathan’s favourite gelato recipe
'I like it best eaten on its own. Nothing but a spoon between me and my Gelato! That’s what I fell in love with in Italy, and that’s what I keep coming back to.'
2 geneorus scoops of your favourite gelato (Vanilla Bean works well)
4 shots of hot espresso
For each serving, place 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream into a glass. Pour the hot espresso over the gelato and serve immediately before the gelato melts.
Gelato Deluxe Shake
2 cups of chocolate gelato
1/2 cup of coffee or coffee-flavored liqueur (recommended: Kahlua)
4 cups of crushed ice
1/4 cup chopped chocolate-covered coffee beans, plus more for garnish (optional)
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Pour into glasses, sprinkle with chocolate covered coffee beans and serve with a straw.
Gelato Cookie Sandwich
A generous scoop of your favourite gelato
Allow your gelato to soften slightly, then place a generous scoop of gelato on one cookie, place the other on top and push down lightly. Serve immediately or place in the freezer for later.
A sponge (optional)
1 Litre of Chocolate gelato
100 grams Chocolate
50 grams of Berries
Place your sponge into the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Next line your mold with sponge cover with gelato and place into the freezer for a further 30 minutes. Next melt chocolate in a double boiler, pour the hot chocolate over your gelato cake quickly place it back into the freezer until you are ready to serve it, garnish with berries.
